Yesterday I trekked to the shops. With a day off it felt good to do some retail therapy but my ankle didn't cop it so well so I went only for a few hours.

I had a mission to do to - Bday shopping. Thank goodness my friend outlined what she wanted, otherwise I dunno what I could get on such short notice!

 

My niece in the morning! He he he, the poor thing - i haven't been able to do a lot of things with her due to my ankle :(

So I've ended up with a Jewellery Box (which I'm going to fill) and a classic tissue case for my friend. It's what she wanted and she loves the Kimmidoll series - so it's a good double whamy!

Also got some completely useless stuff - like my Bad Taste bear - but this is definitely going onto my work desk!

 

I must admit that I didn't have the healthiest lunch either. Chicken burger at Hungry Jacks. Must get back to healthier eating - afterall apparently Australia's the fattest country in the world!!

 

I also tried to get my brother to understand the importance and significance of the smaller things in our surroundings. Like the small old, old library he claimed was "ugly" but I tried to convince him it was conserving old heritage. And the graffiti which I told him was art. We clearly don't see things the same way....

So anyway, back to housework - I'm finding it harder and harder to find time for myself now - and I really miss just procrastinating on Vox. It's just not the same now. Where does time go??

 

 

If you follow my blog, I posted a while back (last holidays) that when holiday comes around my mum creates a "To Do" list of housework. The list is back.

My niece and nephew left early for the weekend so I was thinking to myself that I have a wonderful Sunday to myself. WRONG!!!

As soon as I woke up:

• I changed the covers of all the beds
• I took the clothes in off the line
• I hung out the new clothes
• I washed the old covers of the beds in the wash
• I folded all the clothes
• Prepared lunch
• Cooked lunch
• Cleaned up after lunch
• Cleaned out the fridge and threw away the old food
• Cleaned out the pantry and threw away old food
• Wiped down and around the kitchen with special spray
• Took garbage out
• Did some recycling and organising of old newspapers and put them in the recycling bin
• Sprayed down all the glass in the house (Windows, Mirrors - that means three mirrors per room and one window x 4 rooms and also the lounge room, kitchen and bathrooms)
• Took in clothes off the line
• Hung out the new clothes
• Permed my mum's hair
• Helped idiot brother with homework - he HATES/LOATHES problem solving questions

And then now there's dinner to worry about.

My back is ACHING from all the work.

I HATE the LIST. HATE IT WITH A PASSION. I can't use "I'm studying" as an excuse. Nor can I use "I wanna watch TV" as an excuse either. It won't go down too well... Atm, she's taken the list to add to it so i'm taking a breather...

Anyway, better get back to it. Will continue catching up with blogs as soon as i get the chance.

 

And isn't it worse when the weather is ridiculously nice?  

It's funny being gone for so long. Been trying to log onto Vox for ages and every time it hasn't been loading properly and I lose interest. What has happened so far? I dunno. I can hardly remember anything - I've written down things that I wanted to post about for a while but now, when Vox finally works I have no idea what to say.

I have had free time. Vigourously looking for a graduate job - landed one and hopefully will sign a contract shortly. It's a standard job that will hopefully take me places, and now that I've sealed that job for next year I am now able to organise a decent trip somewhere. Need money though. Anyone care to donate?

The job is good in the sense that it will give me new challenges. I don't think I can do what I do now forever. Although I love the company I work for now - there's just no place for me to move. It was funny, the new place wanted to call my manager as a reference before they can offer me the job but then my manager has been so busy he never returned any calls. So the place called me and I just spun around and asked my manager then and there to be my reference. That was the weirdest request I made to him ever. So random and on the spot! I dont' think he expected it.

What else? Oh we're moving areas at the office, so I lose my window seat - going to miss that fun...Gee, come to think of it I haven't done much beyond work. Pretty much the day after my exam I've been working and working and working...

Graduation - the day I wear that expensive robe and crap? Well, I've decided to miss it for September and October this year and shift it to Autumn next year. That way I will have the rest of the year "off".

Oh, and I went on a tragic date. How is it that we have so much to joke about daily and yet run out of conversation at a date? I'll leave you all in suspense for the fun of it...

 

I got tagged by Lemon for this one and I thought I'd give it a go. Just browsing around my Vox neighbourhood really does lift my spirits.

1) What was I doing 10 years ago?

Ten years ago I would have been 12. So that would have made me what, in year 7? I think I was settling into high school - OH and going through that phase of HANDBALL at lunch! Omg, the days when I was fitter. Need that energy back!

 

2) What are 5 things on my to-do list for today? 

• Work
• Eat
• Work
• Go home
• Vox

I dunno if you can tell - but I lead a really AWESOME life!

3) Snacks I enjoy:

At the moment I'm going through a Corn chips phase. But that will wear off soon considering I tend to overdose on my favourite foods and get sick of them for life!

The only thing that I haven't gotten sick of officially is hot chips. mmmmm.... hot chips.... drool....

4) Things I would do if I were a billionaire:

I would pay my family for all the years they've taken care of me and then travel to the opposite side of the world, in some beautiful island and retire there to teach english to children with limited education - that would be my ideal escape. Instead the reality is I will forever be in debt and will be stuck in a cubicle for the rest of my life.

5) Places I have lived:

Here, Sydney, Australia - I wish I had a nice long tale to tell of all the places I've been and the memories I've had from those places. I could pretend right now but then you'd all know me as a liar! lol  

6) Jobs I have had:

Avon representative - the funniest job in the world for a teenager.

Woolies Night packer. Woolies Checkout chick. OH the stories I could tell you from that place. Like the lady who opened all the toilet paper packs in the aisle just to "See how soft they are" before she made her purchase! Or the time.....

Er, and now, at a Share Registry.

There have been lots and lots of volunteer positions in between but I dunno if they count as jobs. I really love the event management and charity participations I've been in - those outdo all the jobs in the world!

Good News Week was BRILLIANT!

What you see on screen is so mild than real life - it's so friggin good! I was laughing so hard I ended up getting a HUGE HEADACHE! Unfortunately I didn't take any photos - rules against it. But I wish I did.

The stage was rather smaller than what I expected. What you see on the TV makes it look HUGE. There are these mirrors that are around to make it look bigger - and I guess it worked in misleading me! hahaha

Anyway, today I had a rather boring bbq at my place, I was still recovering from Good News Week the night before.

For some reason, being this free and all - it seems I am more busy than ever. How does that work?

I also squeezed a bit of packing in between (i.e. before GNW and the bbq). Now the room is bare. BARE.

Remember the chaos that was once my desk? Empty. All books promptly removed from sight. A lot of my stationary has also been removed. My poor sod-of-a-brother gets to go through all the study torture now. I don't know whether to laugh or feel sorry for him....

After work on my final exam, I decided to cram outside the Uni cafeteria. Just daydreaming, and looking up into the sky I snapped this photo. It was so dreamy...

Tomorrow I'm at work and then to do some grocery shopping for Sunday (party at my place, well more like a get together hang-out thing).

Friday I'm at work.

Saturday. WORK. Yes, work on Saturday - that's how far behind I am all because of uni exams. Damn exams. So instead of embracing and celebrating this beautiful, sexy freedom I shall be at work.

But Saturday night I'll be off to watch Good News Week - in the studio audience which I am psyched about! I went to watch Guiness World Records before but that was rather boring. Hopefully this would be funnier and more exciting!

And I'm taking a friend and her b/f. There is one ticket left (4 tickets altogether in case you're bad at math) - and there's no one to fill it. Anyone from Vox care to be my imaginary friend/date? hahaha

 

Here's what Good News Week is for the kids at home who don't know the show. You guys know this dude- Supernatural guy!

Um, I better go to sleep otherwise I'll fall asleep at the wheels at work tomorrow! (Does that count as a valid saying?)

Will catch up with everyone's blogs soon. I thought after exams I'll be more free but that's not the case. Just got home about 2 hours ago and my mum has already started to ask me to clean my room. Should I throw all my books out? All my notes? If I keep them what use will they have? Sigh. Too much thinking already. I need to shut down my brain!

There is just so much crap I could do with the computer on that I never end up really doing what I am supposed to!

Anyway, I turned this thing back on because I have a headache. I know, I know its bad, but hear me out.

I lit a candle moments ago so that my room can smell a bit better - Lavender if you must know. The lighter I was using was running out of gas but I kept on pressing it and pressing it in the hopes of squeezing it for all its worth. I don't smoke, so buying lighters in general is rather rare. In doing so, my room now has this gassy smell. And I don't feel so good. It's winter and cold and I've opened all the doors and windows to get some air.

In the end I'm cold, I have a headache, and my candle isn't even working.

So much effort to result in so much pain.

In other news, a couple of months back I spoke of our car accident. My dad's friend has had the exact same thing happen to them - same street AND SAME CAR. The guy just WILL not learn. Drunk, driving and running. Again. So my dad is out and about making me make all these phone calls to insurance companies to help his friend out. I hate making these calls. You have to be rather agressive to get something in return, otherwise you get shun away. And yet at the same time you have to be nice enough to them for them to want to help you. Damn insurance industry. Definitely won't be gearing my career towards that - I don't think I could do it. I would want to give everyone all the money and send the company down the drain. Kinda like the main guy in Incredibles (poor memory, sorry).

Oh headache....

Better take a break - the bed looks awfully good but I'm afraid if I lie down I may never get up again.

1. This site/idea is old

2. I don't know why or how I ended at this site

4. My Sunday is fast running out and I have to go to work tomorrow so time is even more limited
