3 o'clock, Saturday afternoon - you know what that means. My net is back! I've officially banned my brother from excessive pod-cast downloading until I finish uni when I won't be needing the internet so much!

Sadly, I am back to procrastinating and sadder - I'm doing uni work while the world is out there having fun. The family has gone to the mall while I'm sitting here attempting to do some research for my assignment.

All the things I wanted to post about when I was gone has also gone from my memory - in other words I have forgotten all the things I wanted to add here. Let's face it, I don't have a brilliant memory so I guess I'm just going to have to leave this as is...

Oh, we got our car back! Instead of our insurance company fixing our severly damaged car, we got a really good mechanic and he re-did our entire car and it's really impressive. The damages were quoted "unreplaceable" from our insurance company but our mechanic and my dad argued their way and we fixed our car and our insurance company gave in. And my parents being my parents threw a party last night (I was couped up in my room, i'll explain in a sec) for the car being back and them defying all odds LOL. Our mechanic came and everyone got wasted, sung badly at karaoke and I became temporarily deaf.

Only 5 Litres?

In my room I had to 'outdo' the folks and blasted my music louder than theirs - so I didn't have to listen to their music. As an asian, I really don't understand asian music. When my parents throw these parties sometimes the guests bring things (fruit, a dessert etc...) but the best thing that came was last night's Beer Keg! 5L of Heineken!

As for being couped up in my room, the reason behind this is "Asian" talk. My parents and their friends have a wonderful thing going on where their children have to 'outdo' their other children. As a non-medical studying family member, my parents prefer if im not mentioned, unless I marry a doctor or something haha. But hey, better for me because I don't have to 'sell' myself to their friends anyway. I'd rather stay in my room. My brother imported loads of Coke-Zero and food to keep me going for the rest of the afternoon/night so it was all good.

Anyway, better get back to work but I'll be back!

It's Sunday! Where did Saturday go? I have a crap-load of Uni work to get started on and yet I am back to my old procrastinating ways.

I haven't watched the news in days and I kinda feel bad. What's happening in the world that I am missing out on? I tend to only read the weird stuff and try to post them here (that's the only time I try to write proper english by the way - these personal posts are in completely bad grammar and I couldn't care less).

Anyway, due to the lack of news I found myself trawling through the internet to look up articles for uni. So much to do - too much to read.

I have also found myself daydreaming, wanting to go outside again for another walk. Who cares about the latest party/club/diner to check out. Who cares about the current outings/events/movie happening? I would rather be a home-body and take nice walks to appreciate the real nature around us.

I sometimes dream of living in the country-side or somewhere really natural away from buildings and construction so I can take really admirable photos. I absolutely love the nature photos that my fellow Vox neighbour WPG takes of the area around where she lives!

So I took another walk this morning. Slapped on heaps of sunscreen and took a sandwich with me - I found myself in an area that I probably haven't seen in years . Also took photos of the beautiful around the area. I am finding these walks absolutely exhilarating (and yeah, probably good for my health hehe).

These pink flowers were suspended in the air as I walked past a house - they stood out and were really light - they looked really pretty :)

I saw heaps of these trees with the bark loosened - I remember tearing some off as a child and writing notes and poems on them when I was younger, it was like an amazing trip down memory lane!

There was also an isolated dirt park (i.e. grassless area) with heaps of rocks so I took some ground photos and thought I'd "Vox" the stones! hehe

This poor Kitty didn't have a nose -I don't know why I took a picture of it, I just felt sad for it I suppose.

I also came across this strange plant which was half green and purple. They look like mint leaves only prettier! And in a garden entirely green, these really stand out!

On the walk back towards home I walked past my brother's old primary school and saw this tree. It looks burnt but surely no fire has ever happened there. It looked so different to all the trees I came across around the area that I had to take a few photos of it. The darkness of the bark and the little bits of red seeping through the cracks made it look like a volcano with lava seeping through the cracks.

Might head off to the local grocery store again - it's still sunny and nice outside, why not eh?

I figured the Milo Icecream didn't do much good for my heart so I unglued my ass from the chair and went walking. No regrets. It was a glorious day (rain gone) and so I took my camera with me.

Until I smelt the smell of good ol' Fish n' Chips! Desire to eat fresh produce was quickly subsided!

 We took the food back to the local park and at in the empty parking lot to eat!

When we went home we got a visit from a Dragonfly! Bright red and dancing with a blade of grass!

And then the day ended with me crawling back to my room and making another attempt at work.

If only everyday I had time to just wander the streets!

" Polaroid, the company behind the instant camera, is to stop making the film used in its iconic technology. The firm is to close factories in Massachusetts in the US, Mexico and the Netherlands after the digital age left almost no market for the film.

Polaroid stopped making the instant cameras themselves about a year ago. It now focuses on other ventures which include a portable printer for mobile phone images, and Polaroid-branded digital cameras.

"We're trying to reinvent Polaroid so it lives on for the next 30 to 40 years," the firm's president, Tom Beaudoin, told the Associated Press.

The firm was founded in 1937, making polarised lenses for the science world, introducing its first instant camera in 1948. Polaroid peaked in popularity in 1991 when its sales - mainly instant cameras and film - hit close to $3bn."

 

Me: I hope Polaroid doesn't dissappear on me. I love polaroid. They took my hand and introduced me into the world of photography. Taught me that because I live life once and that the human memory may fail to remember small things we take for granted - the best way in the world is to capture life on camera.

I know, I really must stop procrastinating. It's in my nature. Like real nature. Anyway, it's just so damn beautiful outside so I took Amy for a bath (the dog) and while out there I decided to take some photos of the flowers that are currently in bloom since it's spring and new life has grown since I last took photos.

Normally the folks don't grow flowers - in fact they prefer greens but some plants happen to grow some flowers. I personally love flowers for the bright colours are absolutely gorgeous! There aren't very many, but here it goes:

Above: This is the one type of flower (anyone know the name?) but in three different colours: Red, Maroon and a lighter Pink colour (first 3 pictures).

Above: If you look carefully at this picture and the one below you will find that the petals are shiny. Yes, SHINY! Glittery-type shiny but my camera does not do the flowers justice, such a shame I don't have an expensive camera to capture this beauty...

Above: This is another close up - really struggling to grasp that shiny-ness off the flower. This is from the lightest version of the flower by the way but I guess you still can't really see it.

Above: From yet another plant altogether - not a flower as such but when I saw this in the garden I immediately wanted to call this photo "Friends" - the way they all hang out together all tall and proud!

Above: Taken from the front of the house on hanging plants. The first one has webs in it which i thought was cute. The second one is a flower from a catus-like hanging plant (photo next to it). Isn't it amazing how such a beautiful thing can grow from something normally associated with dullness and pain?

That also goes for the fourth photo who is born from a prickly plant (you can see it if you look carefully). And same with the last two, sharp plants but glorious flowers!

And finally: A picture of the clear blue sky outside, the road in the far distance is normally really busy, but being a Sunday afternoon I guess everyone is somewhere having fun or simply at home resting.
